Tu Do Island

Tu Do Island is a small island nestled in Lan Ha Bay. Its highlight is
its stunning beach, with swimming areas on two sides. Still unspoiled
and boasting picturesque natural scenery, it promises to be a popular
destination for tourists in the near future.
Among the nearly 400 islands in Lan Ha Bay, Tu Do Island is the most
unique and a must-see for tourists seeking a novel destination. Located
southeast of the Cat Ba archipelago (Hai Phong City), Tu Do Island
boasts a pristine and secluded beauty, yet remains relatively unknown to
many.
Among the countless islands of Lan Ha Bay, Tu Do Island can be
considered the most unique because it has two sides facing the sea,
forming a narrow "strait" only a few hundred meters long, easily
accessible on foot. Viewed from above, the scenery here is just as
beautiful as famous beaches abroad. You can walk from one side of the
beach to the other to admire the beautiful views from both. In the
middle of the two sides of the sea is a fine white sand beach, perfect
for various sports activities, recreation, camping, barbecues, and more.
The front and back are bordered by the stunningly beautiful blue sea,
while the right and left sides are protected by two majestic mountain
ranges, their surfaces covered with lush green trees and tangled vines
and moss. All of this creates a natural landscape that is both wild and
poetic, inviting visitors from all over to come and relax.
Besides its two rare beach fronts, another special feature of Tu Do
Island is its seawater. For comparison, the water at the back beach is
darker than the water at the front, but both are crystal clear, allowing
you to see all the way to the bottom, and are a beautiful emerald green.
It's no exaggeration to say that the seawater at Tu Do Island is just as
clear and beautiful as the paradise islands of the Maldives.
Besides enjoying swimming on both sides of the beach, visitors can also
participate in many other fun activities such as stand-up paddleboarding
to explore caves, relaxing on inflatable rafts floating on the sea, and
playing beach volleyball. Kayaks are always available on the island, so
visitors can paddle around the bay anytime as it is sheltered from the
wind and very safe.
In the evening, you can enjoy BBQ parties with freshly caught seafood.
Tables are set right at the water's edge, illuminated by flickering
candlelight, just like in luxurious resorts.
The island has communal living quarters with a billiards table and
karaoke room for groups of friends to relax. There's no internet, but
few people get bored. Notably, visitors can stay overnight on the island
without having to return to the mainland – an experience not easily
found elsewhere. The bungalows are designed in a charming,
nature-friendly style, nestled among trees and flowers, and enjoying the
sea breeze.
The ideal time to visit Liberty Island is from April to June and
September to October, as the sea is clear and calm during these months,
the air is cool and refreshing, making it perfect for water-based
recreational activities.
Tu Do Island is still relatively unknown and unspoiled, boasting
picturesque natural scenery, promising to become a popular destination
for tourists in the future.
