Trinh Nu (Virgin) Grotto and Trong (Male) Grotto

The Virgin Grotto is situated in the Bo Hon Island systm together with the group of Sung Sot Grotto, Dong Tien lake and Luon Grotto. It is 15 kilometers to the south from Bai Chay Beach. Me Cung Grotto

Me Cung grotto is located 2 km southwest of Titov beach, on Lom Bo island, 25 meters above from the sea-level. From a distance it looks like a roof just ot from the island side. Climbing over step and dangerous stone steps, we can se the large stone slabs towards the top, where it is dry, cool and airy, covered by a layer of shellfish from Melina Stream. (more…)

Dau Go Grotto

Among the famous sights of Halong bay is a beautiful grotto with a very simple name: Dau Go (Driftwood grotto). It is located on Dau Go Island. The name of Dau Go comes from the popular story that in the third resistance war against the Mongol aggressors in 1288, Tran Hung Dao ordered the preparation of many ironwood stakes to be planted in the riverbed of the Bach Dang river, resulting in a very famous sea battle, ending in our victory. Caves, Grottos and Lake in Ha Long Bay

There are many caves and grottos formed in the interior of stone islands, distributed everywhere in Ha Long bay. Among them, the biggest and most beautiful ones such as Thien Cung Cave, Dau Go Grotto, Sung Sot Grotto, Bo Nau Grotto, and Ba Ham lake are mainly in the center of the heritage area. However, some of them are far away from the mainland, like Tien Ong Grotto, Hanh Grotto, and Soi Nhu Grotto.

Islands in Ha Long Bay

Once coming to Ha Long Bay, visiters will be surprised by its splendid natural beauty. Halong Bay - Geographical location

Located in the North - East of Vietnam, Halong Bay is considered to be a part of the Gulf of Tonkin, including the territorial waters of Halong city, the township of Cam Pha, and a part of the island district of Van Don Quang ninh province. Halong Bay borders Catba island in the southwest, the East Sea in the east; and the rest is bounded by 120 kilometers of mainland coastline. The limits of the Halong bay area stretch form E106o58′ to E107o22′ and form N20o45′ to N20o50′.
